It has come to our attention that many insurance companies have certain procedures that they cover and certain procedures that they don’t cover. This is not to say that either the insurance companies or our office is right or wrong.
Insurance companies set certain limits that they will pay. They base these limits on agreements they make with the employers of the companies they insure. These can vary greatly even within the same insurance company, depending on which policy is chosen.
We recommend the best dentistry for our patient in each situation. Sometimes this may not be the same procedure that the insurance company covers. We will recommend what we feel is best for you, the patient, not for your insurance company. At the time you schedule your appointment we will be glad to discuss any options that we feel might be appropriate for you dental health.
As a courtesy to you, we will complete the dental portion of your claim forms. Please remember however, that the financial obligation for your treatment remains with you. While we are happy to submit your dental claim, the existence of one or more dental insurance plans does not relieve you of this financial obligation. Your dental insurance is a contract between insurance company, the employer and employee. Ultimately it is the employee’s responsibility to know your policy coverage.
