Children's Dental Care

Our office places special interest on seeing children and providing the very best care. The first dental visit usually takes place about the time that all of the primary teeth have erupted, usually between ages two and three. These teeth are just as important as the permanent teeth and need the same amount of care and attention to maintain their health. The parents can help prepare the child for a pleasant first visit by talking positively and discussing the visit in a positive manner.

Parents should start brushing the child's teeth as soon as they appear and should encourage them to also brush their own teeth. Remember they will need assistance and supervision until proper brushing skills are seen. This usually occurs between the ages of five and eight. Our office offers several options in helping to prevent decay. Some of which are in office and home fluoride treatments, proper oral hygiene instructions, and sealants.
